Hey guys i think you all use internet. And i think you all use Windows except other os like linux and others. Then you may not now this fact, Windows uses 20% of your internet bandwidth for different purposes like update, contacting your machine etc.
After Knowing this you thining of getting back. Same here i also wanted it back, but know i use linux so i think linux doesnot use so much bandwith or doesnot use (as in my knowledge). Here i will give you a small idea to avoid windows using 20% of your internet bandwidth. You need to follow following steps for that in windows XP:
Click Start-- go to Run-- type gpedit.msc
If you dont now what the gpedit.msc. Its a command to open the group policy editor. The other steps are as follows.
Go to or Click to Local Computer Policy-- then to Computer Configuration-- Again Administrative Templates-- Again Network-- Again to QOS Packet Scheduler--And at last go to Limit Reservable Bandwidth
Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. Dont be annoyed seeing that it is not configured, the actual thing is in the Explain tab
which says
By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default.
Here is what to do, you need to enable the reservable bandwidth and then set it to zero. This will give order to your system not to reserve any % of bandwidth for update and other purposes. And you will get your lost 20% internet bandwidth.
